Can Organic Chemistry be Tackled with Private Tutors?

As a natural chemistry pupil, there are lots of resources you may use to ensure the info is understood by you. Is it true that private tuition can really help a student score better marks?

All the preceding suggestions are very useful and that i strongly recommend that you just use all of them to varying degrees. Yet, there could be exceptional conditions that stop you from using many of these to the finest of your capability.

Many pupils have problem studying and learning by themselves. While peer tutors are helpful, you could find a number of them are less qualified as you would like, and even when they’re their periods are really so overcrowded that you don’t have a chance to inquire your pressing concerns.

private tutors

In Spite Of Professor/TA office hours when you do have the ability to make the appointment, the workplace is extremely overcrowded, and you might discover that the program conflicts using their accessibility.

Under these conditions you ought to hire private tutors, which can be like getting your own personal personal professor. A private coach take you step-by-step through the abstractions with which you’ve trouble, reply all of your inquiries and will instruct at your rate and degree.

A professor usually takes it without any consideration the class comprehends a specific theory and thus not spend time onto it. A private coach will understand precisely that which you want help with and have the ability to break it down, locate the proper strategy, generate questions for you and also assist you along with your research problems.

And while a great private coach does not come inexpensive, you are able to see the cost included in your teaching. Paying for 1-2 weekly tutoring periods is probably more low-cost in both time plus cash compared to re-taking the course to get another time

How to get rid of Belly Fat Diet?

So you want to target the extra pounds around your stomach with a specific belly fat diet? While you cannot target fat on certain areas of your body – you must lose fat all over – there are some things you can do to start melting those pounds away.

If you’ve read my other articles on this site, then you understand that “diets” and “dieting” as we know them do NOT work. Therefore, when I refer to the word “diet” on this site, unless otherwise noted, I am referring to the foods that we eat on an everyday basis. Now that we’ve got that established, let’s dive into a belly fat diet that will help you lose pounds all over and create a healthier, happier you.

First, let’s discuss a couple of health foods, that while still very much nutritious, are likely causing you to GAIN weight instead. You may be surprised.

You may have heard that whole grains make up part of an impressive list of fat burning foods. This is correct. While most of us think of whole wheat bread and pasta when we imagine whole grained foods, wheat can actually work against fat loss efforts. A large percentage of the population has some degree of intolerance to the gluten in wheat. As a matter of fact, many are allergic to wheat and some other whole grains and don’t even know it. Those with celiac disease are the most sensitive to gluten.

In reality, wheat was introduced to the human diet only around 2,000 years ago, and our digestive systems have never really adapted to consuming large amounts of this food. Especially the large quantities we started consuming over the last 100 years. Considering that the human digestive system developed over several hundred thousands of years eating only meats, vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts, we’ve introduced a foreign substance in record quantities over a very short period of time.

Mike Geary, a certified nutrition specialist and founder of the extremely popular and successful “Truth About Abs” program, has found that many of his clients who refrain from eating wheat start to see a “huge” difference in the speed of their weight loss in just a short 2-3 weeks time. In addition, many of these same clients also got rid of headaches and indigestion – and even some skin problems – that have plagued them for years. You can read more of Mike’s safe and effective belly fat diet secrets by clicking here.

Fruit juice

Fruit juice is making us fat. While still somewhat nutritious, all those glasses of orange, grape and apple juice are packing on pounds and escalating dangerous belly fat. But let me make one thing clear. Fruit is 100% healthy and beneficial as part of an effective belly fat diet and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. However, fruit has always been meant to be consumed as a whole – pulp, juice and all. When you remove just the high-calorie, sugary juice and toss the rest, then all you get is lots of calories and none of the appetite suppressing goodness of the fruit’s fiber. Therefore, you just end up craving more carbs. In addition, the fiber in the fruit body not only helps keep your blood sugar in check, it contains most of the fruit’s vitamins and minerals.

Foods you can eat for the best belly fat diet

In my “foods that burn fat” and “fat burning food” articles, you can read in more depth how foods like skim milk, citrus, beans and more can be used as tools in your weight loss efforts. But, here’s a gem that I don’t mention on those pages – whey protein. The amino acids it contains help burn fat and build muscle. And replacing fat with muscle is your ticket to losing those unwanted pounds.

Also, spice up your meals with the little cheese that could. Sprinkle on an ounce of fresh parmigiano-reggiano cheese, which is rich in calcium and has been shown to activate fat burning hormones. This low-cal cheese also has the highest protein content of any dairy product.

Levulan Acne Treatment

The Levulan acne treatment is the newest addition to the acne fighting arsenal of science. Find out how it works, and if it is right for you.

New skin treatments – levulan acne treatment -

Levulan acne treatment is the most recent modality of treatment for acne. Levulan, also known as 5-aminolevulinic acid, is a drug that acts as a photosensitizing agent for the laser treatment of acne. A photosensitizing agent such as Levulan enhances the effect of the laser on the acne lesions.

The effects of lasers on various skin conditions have been studied in the last two decades. Acne, especially severe acne, has yielded good results with laser treatment. Laser treatment of acne is indicated when there is moderate to severe inflammatory acne. Emission of light causes absorption of energy by the tissues in the body. This absorption is based on the wavelength of the light emitted. The energy absorbed produces biological effects on the tissues by the heat released, by producing chemical reactions or by mechanical means.

Propionibacterium acnes, the bacterium associated with acne inflammation, produces porphyrin which causes inactivation of the bacteria under the influence of the intense blue-light of lasers. If the face were to be pretreated by application of Levulan, there is an increased porphyrin production and this enhances the phototoxic effect of the laser on Propionibacterium. This mode of treatment is also known as photodynamic therapy.

Levulan acne treatment is also found to be effective in decreasing sebum production by destruction of the sebaceous glands by the laser. The decrease in the sebum production decreases the risk of further recurrences of acne lesions. One of the biggest advantages of the Levulan acne treatment is that the tissue damage is exactly localized to the area affected by acne since the porphyrins produced by the Propionibacterium are the target of the laser.

Photodynamic therapy with Levulan gives best results when there is moderate to severe infection with Propionibacterium associated with inflammation. It eradicates the acne-causing bacteria and thus decreases the number of the sebaceous glands. Most treatment methods such as antibiotics that inhibit Propionibacterium growth and multiplication may become ineffective due to the development of drug resistance by the bacteria. In the case of Levulan therapy, eradication of Propionibacterium is independent of drug resistance.

Levulan is available as a topical application cream. It is applied one or two hours before the laser phototherapy. You can choose to have a local anesthetic cream applied just before the exposure to laser to prevent possible effects like tingling, itching or burning that may occur during the therapy. Eyes are protected by protective goggles during the procedure. After the procedure, it is advisable to stay away from direct sunlight for 48 hours. Redness may occur but it is transient and passes off over the next few days.

There may be some swelling in addition to the redness of the skin following Levulan acne treatment. It usually resolves after a few days. The treatment is generally painless and does not have any significant adverse effects. Though it has its advantages, laser therapy may never be used as a first line treatment of acne due to the high cost of treatment

Curing Acne

Some claim there are methods of curing acne, but science is still waiting for proof…find out more here

A Cure for Acne? -

Acne has become an inevitable part of a teenager’s life. It affects over 85% of the teens at some point of their adolescence. Acne produces more psychosocial problems than health effects in the sufferer. The pimples that mark a teenager’s face can be persistent. Psychologically, these zits cause emotional trauma as they directly affect the looks of a young person. This results in ridicule and lowers the self-esteem of the victim.

Zits occur due to several factors, the main reason being the elevation of testosterone levels in adolescents. The increased testosterone hormone causes an increase in the sebum production and alteration in the keratin of the hair follicles. The opening of the sebum producing glands is blocked by the keratin. Sebum accumulates behind the blocked pore and gives rise to pimples.

Acne treatments are aimed at producing a decrease in the counts of pimples as well preventing the recurrence. Curing acne takes time as there are no magic remedies. The person who has acne needs to be educated about how pimples appear and what should be done to decrease them. Treatment is chronic and it is very important that a person with acne start a treatment regime and stick to it for several weeks before he sees results.

Though there are several drugs that can be applied on the skin as well as taken orally, acne treatments are more varied. Though oily foods are no longer associated with acne, it has been found that people who subsist on a diet with low intake of refined cereals or sugar do have lower incidence of acne. Further, intake of food rich in antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E promote healthy skin as they take care of the free radicals formed during inflammatory processes. Psychological support may be required when acne is disfiguring. Thus, curing acne requires a holistic approach.

Acne treatment is based on the stage of the disease. When whiteheads and blackheads are the main complaints and there is not much inflammation, topical therapy with Tretinoin or Benzoyl peroxide is the first line of treatment. These drugs clear the keratin plug and cause the release of sebum making the pimples disappear. Caution should be exercised before the first application, as both these medications cause irritation and drying in susceptible persons. A small amount applied on the inside of the elbow will give an indication of allergy. If any irritation or reddening of skin occurs, these should not be applied on the face. Blackheads and whiteheads, if cosmetically disturbing, can be removed by the dermatologist with specialized, sterile equipments called acne extractors.

If there is inflammation with pustule and cyst formation, oral antibiotics are required. The most common drugs prescribed orally are the tetracycline group of drugs. These should be taken under the supervision of a dermatologist. Often, oral antibiotic treatment may be needed for weeks to months. Pustules and acne need surgical drainage by the dermatologist. Extensive inflammation also responds to Isotretinoin (Accutane). Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take Isotretinoin.

Best Acne Medications

There are hundreds of acne treatments, however, the best acne medications are really the only ones worth using. Find out more information on them here.

Great acne medications -

Treatment of acne is based on the type and severity of the pimples. For many teenagers with acne there is no one effective remedy. Individuals respond to acne medication differently and need different treatment approaches. The best acne medications are based on their ability to inhibit the multiplication of the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes and to cause clearing of the keratin at the occluded pore of the pimple.

The pimple is an enlarged, sebum-filled gland whose opening is partially or completely obstructed by keratin from the hair follicle. Acne medications belong to four categories. Among the first of those groups are Tretinoin and Isotretinoin. These are related to Vitamin A and act on the keratin plug that blocks the sebum filled gland. They loosen the keratin material and release the sebum from the pimple.

The second group of acne drugs are the antibiotics. Acne is associated with infection of the sebum producing sebaceous gland by a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes. This bacterium multiplies in sebum and alters its nature. Therefore antibiotics such as Tetracycline, Doxycycline, Erythromycin and Clindamycin have the potential to control the bacterial infection. The antibiotics have to be continued for several weeks and in some cases for months. They should be discontinued only when there are no more fresh crops of pimples or when they start producing adverse effects. Benzoyl peroxide are also antibacterial. They often form the initial line of therapy along with Tretinoin.

The third group of drugs is the anti-inflammatory drugs. When the pimple enlarges with accumulation of sebum, the walls of the gland get thinned out and rupture, producing seepage of the sebum into the adjoining tissue. This causes inflammation and the acne progresses to a chronic form. The best medications to control acne-related inflammation are the corticosteroids. For severe inflammatory acne, oral Prednisolone is required. Inflammation can also be prevented by corticosteroids. Triamcinolone, injected into a large pimple, especially cysts, causes closure of the cyst cavity and healing with minimum inflammation. This mode of treatment is a blessing to teenagers who are prone to develop severe acne.

The fourth group of drugs are the ones that control sebum production by the sebaceous gland. Estrogens, taken as oral contraceptive pills, help decrease sebum and thus control acne. Other drugs, too, have a similar effect. Low dose corticosteroids and Isotretinoin also have a role in the decrease in sebum produced by the glands.

Newer drugs such as Adapalene and Azelaic acid are very effective against acne. Azelaic acid is versatile as it has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-keratin effects.

The best acne medications may need to be restricted in acne usage when side effects occur. Benzoyl peroxide can cause irritation of skin. Tretinoin and Isotretinoin should not be taken by young women, who could become pregnant. The antibiotic erythromycin is safer in pregnancy unlike the tetracyclines.

Adult acne treatments

Even though all acne is essentially the same, adult acne treatments can be specifically geared to treat adult acne. These are some of the treatments, and how they work.

Acne and adult treatments -

Acne is a disease that affects more than 15 million people in the US alone. The majority of those suffering from acne vulgaris belong to the teenage group. Many men and women in their 30s and 40s also develop acne. In these people, acne occurs either as a recurrence or for the first time in their lives. Though not a serious health disorder, acne nevertheless causes much anxiety and loss of self-esteem in the afflicted, whether in the teenagers or those who develop acne much later in life. Adult acne treatments include diet modification and dietary supplements, the application of retinoids and antibiotics, oral acne medication, conventional and laser surgery as well as alternative therapies such as herbal medication.

Though there is little direct evidence that a high fat, high calorie diet causes or aggravates acne, it must be said that it produces subtle changes in the testosterone hormone levels by influencing insulin sensitivity. Testosterone excess in turn produces increase in sebum production. So, it can be said that high calorie diets indirectly have an effect on acne which necessitates dietary modification. A diet low in saturated fats certainly helps decrease the risk of acne recurrences in susceptible individuals. Further, presence of omega-3 fatty acids and other antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E also helps control acne. These antioxidants consume the harmful products of inflammation such as free radicals and prevent worsening of inflammatory acne. These nutrients can be found in diets that include fish, whole grain cereals, nuts, carrots and fresh fruits .

Benzoyl peroxide, the retinoids and antibiotics are usually the mainstay of adult acne treatments. Benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics such as clindamycin and erythromycin are available as creams or gels and applied once or twice daily. These drugs decrease the infection by Propionibacterium, the bacteria that cause acne lesions. Retinoids such as tretinoin, tazarotene, and adapalene are usually applied at night. The oral medications available are the antibiotics erythromycin, tetracycline, doxycycline, and minocycline. Acne vulgaris patients can also take doses of Isotretinoin under the supervision of a physician. This is usually indicated in those with severe inflammatory acne.

Tea tree oil and azelaic acid are the herbs used for adult acne treatments. Tea tree oil is an antimicrobial preparation and may be used in place of benozyl peroxide, because it has fewer side effects. Azelaic acid, which is an antibacterial preparation, is used in place of benozyl peroxide and erythromycin. Both can be applied once or twice on a daily basis. Acne patients are also advised to wash with a detergent-free facial cleanser, using lukewarm water. They should avoid using washcloths to prevent or reduce infection.

Conventional surgery is recommended in adult acne treatments to remove whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, and cysts. Dermatologists or surgeons use special instruments called acne extractors to remove these lesions. Blackheads can be removed using blades and extractors, whereas pustules are nicked with the blade and drained with the extractor. Intralesional injections with a anti-inflammatory steroid called Triamcinolone are used to treat cysts.

Laser surgery is also used to treat acne lesions. Phototherapy using blue, red, violet, or ultraviolet light is used to ablate acne lesions, whereas diode lasers target sebaceous glands.

Acne Diet

There are many different acne diet recommendations, however, the best approach to diet and acne are quite simple. Find out more information below.

Diet & Acne -

Acne diet generally refers to a diet with a higher intake of wholesome cereals and low in calories and refined carbohydrates. A well planned acne diet is also rich in antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E and omega-3 fatty acids.. Acne affects about 17 million people in the US alone, with 85 percent of adolescents and young adults suffering from acne vulgaris. Various treatment options exist for acne, from diet and nutrition to the use of dietary supplements, botanical products, pharmaceutical products, and surgery. Although there is no convincing evidence that high calorie diets themselves produce acne in susceptible individuals as previously thought, there is a growing body of evidence that acne may be affected in part by diet.

A diet for acne vulgaris patients should be high in proteins, moderate to low in carbohydrates, and low in fats. Acne is caused by an excessive secretion of sebum in the oil-producing glands attached to hair follicles on the skin. The average Western diet is high in calories and rich in refined cereals and sugars. It is known that the incidence of acne is lower in communities that have a lower fat intake in their diets and whose diets are rich in wholesome cereals. A diet balanced in carbohydrates, fats and proteins plays a role in insulin sensitivity to these nutrients. This in turn alters the hormonal response of androgens. A decrease in androgen response in suspected individuals may lead to a decrease in acne by decreasing the production of sebum. People suffering from acne should also eat vegetables rich in vitamin A, such as sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, and other greens. The antioxidants found in these foods remove the tissue injury-causing free radicals produced during acne inflammation. Acne sufferers should also drink sufficient quantities of water.

Acne vulgaris patients should decrease their intake of dairy products and certain meats that contain exogenous hormones, since these hormones affect androgen production, which increases sebum production, in the body. They should go on a diet that is rich in foods containing omega-3 fatty acids, found in cold-water fish, such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines, and also in flaxseed oil. Omega-3 fatty acids reduce the production of inflammatory compounds that alter steroid hormone metabolism to reduce androgen production, and improve insulin sensitivity.

Acne diet also includes nutritional supplements, such as brewer’s yeast, zinc and Vitamin A.. Brewer’s yeast, taken in two-gram doses thrice a day, improves glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. A 50-mg dose of zinc taken daily helps to heal wounds, activate local hormones, and improve immune functions. Vitamin A, taken daily in conjunction with a treatment program, reduces sebum production and follicular hyperkeratosis. However, you should be careful when consuming diet supplements, since an overdose could cause problems. Always consult a doctor before trying any new treatment.

Though topical and oral medications are the mainstay in the treatment of acne, the acne diet may play a role in the acne, and particularly by decreasing its severity by controlling the inflammatory damage.
